<About Kintsugi Part>
The cracked parts are all joined by only natural urushi (Japanese lacquer) using traditional Kintsugi techniques rather than chemical adhesives.
This vessel was intricately cracked and required a high level of skill to join.
In this piece, Mr. Suginaka expressed the blue color using a raw urushi to match the atmospehre of the original vessel rather than gold.
This blue color is created by mixing natural urushi with blue pigment.
<About the original vessel>
We purchased this flower vase, which was unintentionally cracked and supposed to be discarded at the pottery store.
This is "Shigaraki ware" (produced in Shiga Prefecture, next to Kyoto), which is famous for its tea ceremony.
Shigaraki ware is characterized by its unique warmth.
<Thoughts behind the piece>
We created this piece with the hope that you will be enriched by arranging flowers in this Kintsugi vase with warmth.
May you feel the beauty of the imperfection in Kintsugi.
All materials we use are natural and do not have any risks of toxicity.
The piece comes with a Paulownia box, including care advises, a giveaway, and a certificate of origin and quality.

How to care for Kintsugi Piece
- After use, wash the pieces using a soft sponge and food-safe detergent.
- Rinse them in lukewarm or cool water and completely dry them using a soft dish cloth.
- Do not soak them in hot or cold water for long periods of time. This may cause the urushi or maki-e lacquer to peel or fracture.
- The urushi (Japanese lacquer) may break or the maki-e lacquer decoration may peel off if the piece is dropped or if it collides with other hard objects. Please handle these pieces carefully.
- Do not place these pieces in the microwave or dishwasher.
