Before You Acquire a Kintsugi Work
What makes your kintsugi authentic?
Every piece is restored in Japan using traditional kintsugi with natural urushi lacquer — never epoxy or synthetic adhesives — and finished with 24K gold, pure silver, or colored urushi. Each one-of-a-kind work includes a certificate of authenticity naming the artist and is presented in a hand-stamped paulownia wood box.
Are your kintsugi pieces food-safe?
Yes. Once fully cured, natural urushi is food-safe, and pieces intended as tableware can be used for tea, sake, and dining. Care instructions are provided on each product page and with your order.
Do you ship kintsugi internationally from Japan?
Yes. We ship internationally from Japan via DHL Express, and shipping is complimentary. Import duties, taxes, and related fees are not included in the price and may apply depending on the destination. See our Shipping & Customs Policy for details.
