Crafted with Care, Restored to Endure
Each piece is restored by seasoned urushi artisans, and lacquer artists who majored in urushi lacquering at Kyoto City University of Arts.
Using natural urushi lacquer, the process involves hand-applied layers, charcoal polishing, and traditional methods.
Depending on the vessel’s design, the finish may include pure gold, fine silver, or colored urushi, with decorative techniques like maki-e or raden inlay sometimes used to highlight the scars—usually taking months to complete.
The time, skill, and materials are reflected in the value of each one-of-a-kind piece.
These restored vessels are also food-safe, designed to be both beautiful and usable in everyday life.
