Authentic Kintsugi

Authentic kintsugi is kintsugi in its classic form: broken Japanese ceramics rejoined with natural urushi lacquer — never synthetic glue — and finished along the seam with 24K gold, pure silver, colored urushi, or a blend of these. One-of-a-kind, food-safe, with paulownia box and certificate of authenticity.

Six urushi artists restore every piece — among them a certified Master of Traditional Crafts and graduates of Kyoto City University of Arts. Each product page shows who restored the work, with a short video of their process.

24K gold is the classic seam — yet silver, colored urushi, and lacquer decoration arts such as raden and maki-e give each fracture its own distinct character.
