Payment Policy

Accepted payment methods
We accept PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Prices are displayed and charged in the currency of your location. The amount shown at checkout is the amount you will be charged; if your card or payment account is held in a different currency, your card issuer or payment provider will apply its own conversion rate and may add a foreign transaction fee.

When you are charged
Your payment is authorised when you place the order and is finalised once we have confirmed and approved it. If we are unable to accept your order — for example because the piece is no longer available or the order cannot be verified — the authorisation is released or the payment refunded in full.

Address verification
For your security, some card issuers require the billing address you enter at checkout to match the address on your card statement. Please enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your statement. Your delivery address may of course differ — we are glad to ship to a gift recipient, or to a hotel in Kyoto and Osaka (please see our Shipping & Customs Policy for what to include at checkout). If your issuer declines a transaction on this basis, registering the delivery address with your card company usually resolves it.

Security
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and the providers listed above. We never see or store your full card details.

Duties and taxes
Prices do not include import duties, VAT or customs fees in the destination country. Please see our Shipping & Customs Policy.
