How we source broken vessels from kilns across Japan and give them new life through kintsugi.

Upcycled Japanese Pottery

Every piece in our collection begins with a vessel that was broken — during firing, shipping, or through the passage of time. We source these vessels from trusted kilns and wholesalers across Japan, each carrying the skill and spirit of its maker.

By choosing our kintsugi, you help ensure that the craftsman's work is honored and that nothing of value goes to waste.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Each piece is cradled in a traditional paulownia wood box — a fast-growing, naturally insect-resistant wood treasured in Japan for centuries, requiring no chemical treatment. We ship worldwide through DHL GoGreen Plus, investing in sustainable aviation fuel to reduce the carbon footprint of every delivery.

Sustainable Kintsugi FAQ

Yes. Kintsugi restores rather than replaces, uses natural urushi lacquer, and extends the life of handcrafted ceramics — making it inherently sustainable.

Pieces restored with authentic urushi lacquer are safe for food use once fully cured. Please refer to the care instructions on each product page.

No. We never intentionally break new vessels. Every piece we restore was already damaged — during production, shipping, or through natural causes.

We partner with established kilns and wholesalers across Japan, including producers of Kyoto ware, Nabeshima ware, and Ko-Imari ware.

Each piece is packaged in a traditional paulownia wood box and shipped via DHL GoGreen Plus for carbon-neutral delivery.

Sustainability in Every Detail

Every aspect of our practice reflects a deep respect for tradition and the earth, from rescued vessels and natural lacquer to paulownia boxes and carbon-neutral shipping. When you bring home one of our pieces, you become part of this story.
