📦 How It Works with DHL

We ship all international orders via DHL Express under DAP (Delivery at Place ) terms.
If duties apply, DHL will email you a secure payment link before delivery.
Once paid and cleared, your order will be delivered.

Here’s how the customs process works:

• Payment Notification
  If duties apply, DHL Express will contact you by email (or text) with a secure payment link before delivery.
• Online Payment
  You can pay quickly and safely online using a credit card.
• Customs Clearance
  Once payment is confirmed, DHL will complete the customs process.
• Final Delivery
  After clearance, your order will be delivered to your address.

Note: To comply with international customs regulations, we always declare the full value of your order. We cannot under-declare or mark items as gifts.

📄 Classification & Estimated Duties

• For import purposes, our Kintsugi pieces are generally classified as Ornamental ceramics (HS code: 6913.10).
• Lacquered artworks (wood or mixed media) may be classified as lacquerware or others.

🇺🇸 Special Note for U.S. Customers

• As of August 29, 2025, the $800 duty-free threshold (de minimis) has been eliminated.
  All U.S. orders are now subject to import duties and taxes, regardless of order value.
• A flat 15% duty applies to all U.S.-bound shipments, effective September 4, 2025.

• To ensure timely delivery, please complete the applicable payment by the deadline provided by DHL or U.S. Customs.

Final classification and tax assessment are determined by U.S. Customs upon import.

If customs clearance is not completed by the deadline, the following may occur:

• Delivery may be delayed.
• Your package may be returned to Japan.
• Return shipping costs may be deducted from your refund.
• Additional charges may apply that we cannot cover or refund.
