<About Kintsugi Parts>
Ko-Imari blue ware looks great with simple kintsugi. We applied simple Kintsugi on the chips and cracks carefully with 24-karat gold powder. The gold is finally coated with urushi (Japanese natural lacquer) to prevent it from peeling off. In addition to repairing the cracked and chipped areas with traditional Kintsugi, we have also drawn Kintsugi patterns on some other unbroken part to create a dynamic Kintsugi piece.
<About the Original Vessel>
This vessel was made over 150 years ago. Vessels made in Saga Prefecture in Kyushu, on the western edge of Japan, are called Imari ware.
Vessels made after 1600, during what is called the Edo era in Japan (the last period ruled by samurai), are called Ko-Imari (old Imari ware), and are popular as simple living vessels.
This vessel was made as a buckwheat noodle cup, and is just the right size for a cup of coffee or tea.
<Thoughts Behind the Piece>
We aim to create a sustainable, yet luxurious pieces by reviving the thoughts and times of all the artisans involved in the creation of this fine vessel through Kintsugi.
We hope that the sunflower pattern will brighten the spirits of those who use it.

All materials we use are natural and do not have any risks of toxicity.
The piece comes with a Paulownia box, including care advises and a certificate of origin and quality.

- After use, wash the pieces using a soft sponge and foodsafe detergent.
- Rinse them in lukewarm or cool water and completely dry them using a soft dish cloth.
- Do not soak them in hot or cold water for long periods of time. This may cause the urushi or maki-e lacquer to peel or fracture.
- The urushi (Japanese lacquer) may break or the maki-e lacquer decoration may peel off if the piece is dropped or if it collides with other hard objects. Please handle these pieces carefully.
- Do not place these pieces in the microwave or dishwasher.
